Anime artists do this thing where they frame the character on the diagonal and I absolutely love it. It disguises a lot of posing and perspective flaws. So anyways, I really do love the anime style and I don’t know why I don’t use it more often.

Ya but this was done with a mouse. I have a tablet but I learned how to do everything with the mouse so I keep using the mouse. I should probably force myself to use the tablet but I find that the mouse leaves cleaner lines and I already use a pencil and paper for my sketches. But don't listen to me, a tablet is much easier to use. Learn it and use it

it's looking really good
one little tip though try to do all of your local color mixing (local color is the color of an object while unaffected by light or shadow) before you add the light source it will help make the light source more believable

Thank you very much for the advice! I was trying to do a different lighting effect on the different materials but I don't think I pulled that off at all. I taught myself to paint so I'm sure I still have lots to learn

It an incredible piece, love the brilliant coloring! Like the armor too, complexed enough, but not detailed where it looks gaudy.

But seriously, I really love doing the detail work on my pictures. I never know when to quit. And if I didn't have a regular job, I'd spend all day painting fasteners and etchings
